Transport Trolleys
To enable the coolers to be moved through the installation in a controlled manner, Delmeco developed a set of transport trolleys in accordance with the Machinery Directive. A key design requirement was their highly compact construction, allowing the trolleys to operate within the limited available space. Each trolley is suitable for loads of up to 8 tonnes and is equipped with lifting, driving, steering and crab steering functions. This combination of compact dimensions and manoeuvrability makes it possible to move the coolers safely past existing installations and through confined passages.
The trolleys are fully remote-controlled and can be wirelessly linked to each other. This allows both trolleys to move synchronously as a single system, keeping the load continuously under control during transport. Safety is further ensured by a two-hand control system. Each trolley has its own remote control, and both operators must enable the movement before the load can be moved.
3D Scan
Before the transport could take place, the existing situation was fully captured using an extensive 3D scan. Based on this data, Delmeco developed the complete transport route and identified all critical points.
By analysing the route digitally in advance, potential bottlenecks could be identified at an early stage and the transport operation could be prepared step by step. This provided a clear understanding beforehand of how the coolers would be manoeuvred through the installation and which equipment would be required.
Supporting Structures and Lifting Equipment
New steel supports were manufactured for the project in accordance with NEN-EN 1090, Execution Class 3 (EXC3). In addition, the required lifting equipment was produced in accordance with NEN-EN-ISO 3834-2, ensuring that all components of the transport system meet the applicable quality and safety requirements.
