For Sims Recycling Solutions, Delmeco designed, built, and installed two container tipping installations. These systems enable 20-foot containers to be safely and ergonomically emptied, in full compliance with occupational health and safety (HSE) standards.

Scope of work:

  • Design and engineering of the container tipping system

  • Construction of the tipping system, including safety features such as a door stopper and protective shielding

  • Design, construction, and testing of the control panel and automation system

  • On-site installation in Eindhoven (mechanical and electrical)

  • Execution of a Site Acceptance Test (SAT)

A truck places the container onto the tipping installation using its hook-arm system. The container is then secured using a mechanical locking system. To safely open the container doors, a door stopper is used—ensuring the operator is never exposed to falling material. Once the door latches are released, the doors are automatically opened by the door stopper system. Using the control system, the contents of the container can be discharged in a controlled manner onto a conveyor belt.

Delmeco delivered the system as a full turn-key solution, from initial design to commissioning.
